Safe ministry

St Lucia Bible Church is committed to creating a safe, nurturing and supportive environment for children and vulnerable people.

Our Policy

We adhere to the policies and procedures set out in the Member Protection Policy.

Our Leaders

All Youth and Children’s ministry leaders are screened (including Blue Cards and reference checks), assessed and then approved for ministry before joining a team. They are then trained in safe ministry practices before commencing leadership and regularly while they serve.

Our Training

Safe Ministry Training video courses are available, and tailored courses are required for different levels of ministry.

All adults at SLBC are encouraged to complete the Safe Ministry Course for members to equip them for being part of a safe church.

Our Community

Safety isn’t just the role of a few, but everyone.

What else can we all do to ensure the safety of our most vulnerable?

Be community minded

  1. Notice:

    • Surroundings, spaces or circumstances that may not be safe

    • Unsafe actions or inappropriate behaviour

    • Signs that a child or other vulnerable person may be at risk

  2. Raise any concerns

    • Contact a safe ministry supervisor (below) with anything you have noticed

Safe Ministry Supervisors
