Joshua Russell

SENIOR PASTOR

I was born into a Christian family (in Bowral, NSW) and I’m second of four children. When I was 6, my family moved to England and I did all of my schooling there. I made a commitment to follow Christ for myself when I was 13 because I heard a sermon about the rich young ruler from Mark 10 which really struck me. The preacher explained that you can either have the whole world or Jesus, but you can’t have both. It was then that I finally realised that I had been living for the world, but I wanted to have Jesus.

When I was 18, my family moved back to Australia and I began MTS (the Ministry Training Strategy) at St Andrew’s Cathedral in Sydney. I then studied at Moore College. I met Kathryn at a beach mission just before I started my 3rd year at Moore, and she was finishing up her Bachelor of Arts at UNSW. We got married at the end of that year. When I finished college, I began working as an assistant minister at an Anglican church in Sydney, and Kathryn began studying at Moore College.

Kathryn is also from a Christian family. She was born in Sydney and is the youngest of three. She never really remembers a moment when she ‘committed her life to Christ’, but as she’s got older her faith has grown. We both like playing with our kids (we have four girls), going to the beach, hanging out with friends, going for walks, reading.

Our greatest desire is to see people come to know the Lord Jesus and serve him with their whole lives. Thanks for checking out our website. If you come along to church, do come and say hi, I'd love to meet you.
